Chapter 01
A slow drain is telling you where to look
One sink that drains slowly is usually a clog in that fixture's own trap or branch line: hair and soap in a tub, grease in a kitchen line. When the tub, the sink and the washing machine all back up together, the blockage is further down, in the main line that carries everything out of the house. That is a different job with different tools.
Out in the yard, older lines can fill with roots or sag in a low spot where water and solids sit. From the kitchen the symptoms look alike: slow, then slower, then a backup at the worst moment. Which fixtures are affected, and how many at once, tells a plumber which line to open before anyone picks up a tool.
When you call (903) 849-2393, say which drains are slow and which are fine. That one detail saves time on site.

Clearing the right line, then proving it
Artesian Plumbing puts its drain work this way: an experienced team using “the latest techniques to remove blockages and ensure efficient drainage.” In practice that means matching the tool to the pipe: a hand auger for a fixture trap, a machine for a longer run, and no more force than an old pipe can take.
A cleaning is not finished when the cable comes back out. It is finished when water runs hard through the whole line, the fixtures upstream drain together, and nothing gurgles. We run water to confirm before we pack up.
Drain cleaning starts from $225 and usually takes one to two hours. It starts from because a short fixture clog and a long main-line blockage are not the same morning's work. Artesian Plumbing is licensed and insured, and works in Chandler, Tyler and the towns between.
Chapter 03
Keeping it clear, and what a repeat clog means
Grease and cooking oil are the usual cause in a kitchen line: they leave the pan hot and set up cold inside the pipe. Wipe pans out before washing them. A strainer in the tub and shower catches hair before it reaches the trap, and it is the cheapest fix there is.
If the same drain clogs again within weeks, the pipe is usually the reason: a low spot, a crack that lets roots in, a joint that has shifted. Clearing it again only resets the clock. That is where the line lettered on Artesian's 2009 van applies, “Fix it the first time.” We tell you when a cleaning will not hold and the lasting answer is a repair.
